A nice Paleolthic period hand axe found in the Northern Sahara Desert measures 112mm x 63mm x 20mm. This is a finely made axe that is thinner than most. Made of heavily polished green jasper that has patinated orange from time, is polished from shifting sands, and heavily patinated, from over the mileniums. Dates to the Acheulean period approx. 500,000 years old,give or take a couple hundred thousand years. Longest used, shaped working tool type ever used by humans.. .
